Hold up! Kid's at a Bar? what!? Well a parfait bar that is! Who says healthy food cant be fun ! Stock up at the grocery store and bring the Little's along. Let them select their yogurt flavors and topping and sneak some fruit in there. This is a great way to have fun while making a healthy snack. #Snacks We all know kids can be picky when it comes to their foods, however in our experience, the more fun it is to make the more willing they are to try it.

Add a little sprinkle into the mix! #sprinkles #Jimmys

If you happen to have a nanny at home helping out , this is a great rainy day activity for some engagement and creativity for them to do with your children. #Nanny #Rainyday #Kids #Childcare

Kids Parfait Recipe for you to try!

Ages: Preschool and up Course: breakfast, Lunch, Snack Servings: How many kids do you have?

Ingredients to try

Whole Milk yogurt of their choosing; Remember this is a whole experience. This allows them to make a decision on what they would like at the store and while making it, this incorporates multiple senses such as site, touch, taste and smell.

Toppings, and lots of them!

These are just some ideas, however the sky is the limit. Chocolate chips

Granola

marshmallows

Fruit of any kind

Caramel drizzle

Vessels- get creative on what to make your parfaits in.

Dollar store plastic fun cups

mini mason jars

* Something you can see through is your best option when it comes to making it also a visual experience.

Next it's time to create! Let them use their imagination by putting all ingredients out separately like you would with paints. Allow them to layer as they please and mix. It may not look pretty at the end of it all, however it will taste just as good no matter the outcome.

We all know that a Fur-baby can be just like a child at times. For those that do not have children sometimes those little bundles of furry joy are their children. Well, today is my "Childs" birthday. My sweet, hairy and loveable pup has turned 5! I think of when we brought him home, he barely knew how to function. He could not walk up stairs or jump in the car because he simply did not know-how. When we saved him from the shelter, he broke out of his crate and ate a whole family pack of chicken off the counter. That was that stray, trash dog in him. Well not anymore! now he is polite and just is the sweetest soul ever...

ok ok...back to the point of this blog. With it being his big 05! I am baking him a cake as I type this to you. I thought you know what? others may want to bake an all-natural cake for their fur babies as well.

Things you will need

1. Round cake pan or Cup cake pan

2. Large and Medium-sized mixing bowl

Set your oven to 350 degrees

Ingredients

Cake Mix

1 large egg

1/4 cup

1/4 cup Avacado oil

1/3 cup honey

1 cup shredded carrots

1 cup whole wheat flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/3 cup quick-cooking oats

ree

Frosting

1 cup peanut butter

1 Cup Plain Greek Yogurt

1 TBS honey

It's so good we all want to try it !

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a cupcake tin or Cake pan with 6-8 cupcake liners or spray with nonstick spray. Combine the egg, peanut butter, oil, honey, and shredded carrots in a large bowl. Feel free to omit the honey if you’d like. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and oats. Add this to the carrot mixture, and stir until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

Bake for 150 35minutes depending on the pan you use, until a toothpick inserted in the center, comes out with a few crumbs on it and the tops are slightly golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let cool on wire rack.

Mix together your frosting ingredients and add more Peanut butter as you mix to get the right consistency

Frost and serve and if your other little ones want to give a taste, well why not!

A Monthly subscription of date night ideas sent right to your doorstep!

ree

Okay!

I know we are always so busy, as Dan and I are also. You feel like you barely get a moment to even say hello to each other. With children, its even more chaotic. Of course in the best of ways! You get stuck in this rut of OK.. Take out for date night? To tired to move from the week and you just don't feel like doing another thing like getting ready. I mean that's more work, am i right? So it basically falls into this routine of Chinese, pizza you name it ... Every damn week. I don't know about you ladies but I try and watch what I eat for most the part, so it can be a hinder to fall into these habits week after week. You grab a slice of that pizza you just ordered and the kids are watching t.v. You then grab your phone or zone out full on T.V Mode..... mindless and repetitive date nights. Not even really a date at home , because you barely speak or hang out while all this is going on. It becomes such a bummer and a disconnect, and yes i said bummer.

Happily Date Box Changes All of this!

It's true! This little box is such a game changer and really mixes up the relationship a little bit. As stated previously this company will send you a different date in a box every month. When you open up the box there will be a theme. This month, for valentines day ours is an escape room cruise ship game with the ingredients to make scones! (we are excited to play as its a fun, at home card game). Along with each theme they will include a play list to listen to while your making something or doing the activity that the date instructs.

Plan Your Date Ahead Of time if needed...

These Boxes get you out of the Pizza date rut and into learning new things about yourselves as a couple. It will include topic discussions or trivia with each box so that you have a new topic of conversation.

This is like therapy in a box! It really forces you to look at each other again and take time, This is something that even the most loving couples forget to do due to busy life schedules.

With that said - You just have to go for it! Try it for yourself ! I am not getting paid to endorse I just think its a fantastic way to reconnect with your significant other/Partner all while being able to still be home. These do not take to long to do and can be done after the kids go to bed.

Enjoy the Date box, Have some wine after the little's are asleep and reconnect !
